Ok guys and gals, if you’re into network marketing with a particular company like Waiora. You most likely received an announcement like the one below touting the benefits of having your own “RediscoverYourLife.com” website or some sort of self replicated site from your company. The prospect manager system that Waiora has looks great, don’t get me wrong! It’s too bad not all companies start their reps out like this.

My question to you is…..what does it teach you about marketing?

Below is a copy of the Waiora Corporate announcement where I will interject some food for thought ideas.

“After twelve months in the making, the new Prospect Manager Plus is finally available! RediscoverYourLife.com is a website and Prospect Manager all in one. This new tool allows you to capture, store, manage and market to your prospects.” Terrific, this sounds great so far…. Let’s continue…

“RediscoverYourLife.com will allow you to …

• Customize your site with your own theme, photo, story and .url   (great, you want that!)
• Share the products and opportunity with prospects through an easy-to-navigate system with videos, banner ads and online quizzes (where do you put this stuff so people see it?)
• Capture, input, protect and manage your leads, all in one place (this is good too!)
• Market to your leads by sending emails, movies, autoresponders, etc. and tracking the activity (no offence corporate, but a little vague on this one in my opinion!)
• Gain valuable information with a cutting-edge tracking system (any serious marketer needs that!)
• At-a-glance see who’s “hot” and who’s “not” so you know where to spend your time prospecting (what do you do with the ones who are “not”?)
• Save you time and money (definitely a benefit, especially when first starting out!)
• Speed up the cycle of duplication, by presenting an accurate and consistent message – every time” (can’t agree more so when putting together a duplication process!)

Ok….so above us is some key features and benefits that this web site can bring us. I’m sure by my little jabs/praises that you probably can see where I find the problem/innovations with this system.  For instance;

* Customization: This is a terrific means of branding yourself, especially if you’re able to put your face on the site and describe who you are what your experiences have been as well as put your own URL into it.

* Sharing product info/opportunity: A great feature to help you communicate more effectively with your prospect especially if you live far apart from each other. However, if you have a BlackBerry^TM or I-phone^TM with web capability you can do your presentation on the fly. Truly this is a timesaver.

*General Marketing: Posting banners and marketing with Emails/Auto-Responders, this is where things get a little fuzzy. For the new person who has just started in the business, especially if they have no previous MLM experience, can find this a little daunting and confusing if they try to do it online.

In my experience I’ve discovered that the marketing plans that most MLM companies train their new reps with is the old school of contacting your warm market method, once that is exhausted your left to resort to putting ads in newspapers ,post flyers in stores or windshields etc…

Waiora is the first company I’ve seen so far to recognize that the old school is truly that old school, and the new means to locate people is online. Congratulations Waiora!

Question though…how do you market online? Are there courses? How manytechniques/strategies are there? Are there other tools that I need? What’s it going to cost me?

Now let me take a little time to explain how you can take this cutting edge web site or something similar and integrate it into your marketing plan. You do have a Marketing Plan???

If not…. the answer is to do a review of a tool as I did that can provide you the answers you want as follows;

•  To give you information to learn from the basics through to professional fundamentals of marketing your MLM business, from experts who have already done it before you.
  (No need to reinvent the wheel here.)
• Learning in a step by step video training to guide you through each process; followed by an included subscription to weekly training webinars as well as forums for further help with experienced peers.  
•  Learn not to pay for your advertising efforts from your day job, but to have it paid for by your potential prospects! Face the facts folks that not every one of your prospects is going to join your Waiora business. So how can they pay for your advertising? Why would they? This is what my team and I can teach you! 
• To build a constant flow of prospects from various marketing strategies that is Free or Paid! (You start with Free and then move into Paid strategies after you have built a steady income and gained experience.) 
• To build an ongoing relationship with your prospects who naturally then are asking for your Waiora products or ideas to help them market their businesses. YOU ARE NOT CHASING/BEGGING THEM! THEY WILL COME TO YOU READY TO BUY! (Whereby you can now send them into your company replicated website or any other product info site you have to show the info for the product or business opportunity.)
•  Being able to pass this tool down to your Waiora down-line team so that they can learn this marketing information on their own and so on, thereby freeing up your time, to get more distributors/product sales. (Duplicatable!)

On another point…..you should be aware of while getting into this industry; some of the rules are changing fast for people who do ppc marketing (known as pay-per-click) and use these self replicating sites or spammy capture pages. I’ve learned from some other industry leader partners by the name of  Raymond Fong and Ferny Ceballos who quoted an excerpt from a friend of theirs email  by Ann Sieg’s of “The Google^TM Crackdown” as follows;

“Google has received pressure from the FTC to eradicate illegitimate business opportunities from their system. The overwhelming interest of individuals looking to the web to earn money has not decreased, rather it continues to explode exponentially. However, Google wants to eliminate anything that looks over-hyped, has inflated or unsubstantiated claims or looks like a traditional business opportunity ad. In addition to the above, they are currently looking to eliminate self replicated websites ad affiliate programs.”

So by now you should be getting the idea, with all good intentions aside. There is more to this business than you may have been told. Don’t forget the fact, THIS IS A BUSINESS! You have to attract prospects who then become your customers/repeat customers. This needs to be done from your own site with your own control over it, where there is no interference from company replicated sites.  You also need to learn that you cannot do this business as a hobby. You can do it part-time, yes….. but not has a hobby. You would be wasting your time and money. There is a significant amount of time initially to invest (depending on previous experience and computer knowledge) in learning these marketing skills.
